The Godiva custom corset is a slightly modernized version of a Victorian Riding corset. It has a moderately shaped bust area....not flat like true Victorian corsets and not super cupped like a modern day bra, but a little in between! It comes down over the tummy in the front, sweeps up high at the sides and over the hips and dips back down over the derriere. One of its quaint characteristics is the front side panel is made of two pieces, almost giving the appearance of a faux pocket! It is constructed of three layers: the outer fashion fabric, an inner lining of coutil and the "outer" inside lining of cotton. It has an average of 22 pieces of 1/2" boning consisting of a front busk, spiral boning, straight white steel boning along the back grommets and busk, two part professionally set grommets, small strong stitching, felled seams, bone casing for all bones except the busk, waist tape, and front and back modesty panel. Some very voluptuous sizes may require an additional amount of boning that will cost extra. This corset is suitable for tight lacing if desired.
