News & Updates:
14 May 2008:
Corsets prices have been updated. Please note that I
may have to temporarily refuse corset orders due to my current turn
around time (which I would like to shorten) and construction that will
be done on my home this summer. Please consider placing your order now
for early Fall/Halloween events. If need be, measurements can be
resubmitted as your order comes up. Please feel free to email me to
discuss!
06 May 2008:
Please see Blooddrop's Livejournal for a leftover
sale of 2007 Limited Edition perfumes!

The price increase update will be arriving shortly. I haven't had time
to do it yet as I am catching up on corset orders.
15 April 2008:
My hovercraft is full of eels! Ok, got your attention? Bonjour,
bonjour! Ok, a few quickie announcements.
1. My supplier accidentally shipped me the wrong size glass vials for
perfume samples, so this is holding up some orders. I will get these
shipped as soon as the correct size vials arrive. My apologies!
2. Price increases. Booh! No one likes to read this! I know and I hate
to have to do it, but, for those of you who live here in the US with
me, you know how shitty the state of the economy is. Well, unless you
work for the major oil corporations. In that case, you're raking in the
cash. So, as long as I remain your corsetmaker, perfumer and all round
sewy-artsy girl, I've gotta try to make a living. ; p
So with that said, on May 1st
all corset prices are going up.
The average increase is 10% with a few other increases here and there.
One good thing that is coming with the price increase is the use of
coutil in *all* corsets. This will now include the Blooddrop.
3. Future price increase #2. This is an increase for the Bath &
Perfume side of things. This is a positive thing because the price
increase is reflective of the increased addition of more luxurious and
costly ingredients such as imported absolutes and essential oils from
all over the world! I just have to share that some of my new found
loves include White Cognac, Genet, Foin (hay) and Kunzea. I have not
fully settled on a new price structure for this side of things, but it
shouldn't be too harsh since my costs are quite low to begin with. If
this side of Blooddrop is to last, things need a little polishing up!
4. Some fragrances are going to get the axe. Including in this axing
are Chevalier, Miss Trixie, probably the current formulation of Eiffel
Tower (I want to rework this one), maybe Cutie Patootie, maybe a few
others. I think Bardot is going to be reformulated as well. Anyways, if
anyone has major concerns, email me or order the above mentioned ones
now. I'll be clearing out the brush also on May 1st. I also have a
bunch of past limited edition bottles that I'll be listing on
livejournal eventually. They'll be posted here:
http://community.livejournal.com/salonblooddrop/
Fragrances include last summer's Meow Benefit fragrances, Autumnal and
Holiday.
Ok, I think I've covered most of it! Thanks for all your support,
patience and general customer awesomeness. Without you, Blooddrop
wouldn't be what it has become!!!

10 March 2008:
First and foremost: if
you have an AOL email account. My emails may not be getting through to
you. Please check your junk mail/spam box. An alternate email
to contact me at is: blooddropclothing-at-hotmail-dot-com . I check
that address usually once a day.
Finally, finally! Some new fragrances for you! It's tricky sometimes
balancing the two sides of Blooddrop (sewing vs. perfume/bath
concocting) and it's even trickier adding new fragrances to the
menu. What I have to offer for you is an new limited edition
concept that I think is pretty nifty and some of the scents I like so
much, they just might make it into catalogue scents if the response is
good. So, that said, if there are any of the limited edition fragrances
that you really like and think should be available all the time, please
let me know! There are 6 limited editions and 2 new catalogue scents:
Bisou and Les Ecailles. Les Ecailles (scales, as in reptile ones) is a
unisex fragrance! The basil and greenery in it is *awesome* and Bisou.
Oh god, Bisou. Goshdarntootin' delicious. And I've got another dudes'
scent coming as well. Still working on a name for it, but my husband
has the first bottle of it on his side of the sink!
And speaking of response, the bath & perfume side of Blooddrop is
still very much on shakey grounds. I am giving it a few more months,
but if orders don't pick up some more and become more frequent, I'm
going to have to throw in the towel. I would really hate to do this
because I know some of you would be really disappointed (myself
included)! So spread the word! Every body likes to be clean and nice
smelling for the most part right? Then, send them over to Blooddrop.
Finish up whatever main stream, mass-produced, boring, unartsy fartsy
soap/cream/unguent you've got on your bathroom counter and refresh it
with something from Blooddrop! Support small businesses, please!
Oh and take a look at the new fabrics I've added for spring! So pretty!
I loves me some Thai-Damasky-Scrapbooky-Naturey goodness!
Ah what else should I mention? Oh yes, summer corset or costume/outfit
orders! Now's the time to place your orders! I have quite a back log of
current orders that I am working on and if you've been thinking of
order from me, the sooner the better. Turn around times are about twice
as long right now (3-4 months for something basic). So if you want a
corset for a summer event (or fall even!), now's the time to get on it.
Don't wait until the last minute chicas! Email me if you want to
start the ordering process or if you'd like to work out some ideas. And
just so you know, I do all sorts of commission work even though I don't
always show it here. If you want a skirt or something match with your
corset, ask!
Oooh, Spring is coming! I'm so excited!

Also to
note, Blooddrop's on Livejournal here:

And on Myspace here:

And I'm eventually (I think) going to nix the Blooddrop yahoo
account and go to a
normal
email update list. I'll post details here when that happens.
