Cygnus
Cygnus

Cygnus the swan is also one of the three constellations whose alpha star makes up one of the points in the Summer Triangle. In Greek myth, Cygnus was a man who was turned into a swan by Zeus in order to retrieve his drowned friend, Phaeton’s, body. Once made swan, he was no longer able to become a man again and remained in swan form until he died. Zeus memorialized this selfless act by putting Cygnus’ swan image in the sky. Cygnus is a downy soft and midnight blue perfume of orchid, vanillaed sugar, gardenia, bergamot, and sparkling grapefruit. (This version of Cygnus is entirely different from Cygnus the Linen and Chamber Spray. I apologize for any confusion!)

Hydra
Hydra

Hydra the water snake is the biggest of summer constellations; long and twisting like a serpent. One myth is the Greek god, Apollo, was given a glass of water to drink by Corvus the crow and in the glass was a hydra. In a fit of rage, Apollo threw the glass, the hydra and the crow into the air and they now hang in the night sky making the three constellations Crater, Corvus and Hydra. Hydra’s perfume is watery, glistening and shimmering like wet scales. Liquid green amber, effervescent gingered ale, sticky blackberries, myrtle, palmarosa, calamus and attar Jannatul Firdaus.

Lyra
Lyra
Lyra the harp is the last constellation whose alpha star, Vega, makes up the third point of the summer triangle. Although Lyra is a smaller constellation, its star, Vega, is one of the brightest in the sky! In Greek myth, Lyra , the harp of Orpheus, was thrown into a river after Orpheus’ murder. Zeus sent his eagle, Aquila, to retrieve the harp and then set both in the night sky. Sweet apricot, spun sugar, palmarosa, effervescent gingered ale, and a tiny touch of velvety, vintage patchouli make Lyra’s perfume golden, bright and beckoning.

Vulpecula
Vulpecula
Vulpecula the little fox is a dim constellation in the center of the Summer Triangle. Originally, it was called “the little fox and the goose” or “the little fox with the goose in its mouth” but was later divided in to two separate constellations. Vulpecula bears a playful and silvered scent. Soft, blue- greyed fur, sweet dessert cheese, nutty cakes, forest woods and faux foxy musk.
