De retour! The much-loved Beurre de Bain (bath butter) is
making a reappearance this winter because you’ve asked and because it is the
time of year when the skin becomes to dehydrated and really needs a some extra
tender, loving care. I’ve made two different Beurres for you and your skin to
enjoy. Buerres come in a 1oz push-up tube and while they work best in the bath
and shower, you can certainly keep them in your purse or at your desk. Just be
careful not to keep the Buerre near direct heat since it can melt.
Beurre de Bain Edition: Café
There is no mistaking the main ingredient in this beurre,
you will smell it: coffee butter! No caffeine in here, but lots of moisturizing
with the coffee butter, cocoa butter, pumpkin seed oil (which is loaded with
vitamins and fatty acids), and a extra shot of vitamin E for
good measure. Honey absolute is also in this beurre not just because it smells
divine, but because it is soothes irritated skin and helps it to retain
moisture. And there’s some vanilla absolute in here as well because, well, is
smells hella awesome and plays fabulously with the other ingredients. Ladies,
beware, your men may steal this butter. To avoid such shenanigans, write SMELLY
PINKY GIRLY STUFF over the label and add little star stickers.
Ingredients: Coffea arabica Seed Oil (and) Hydrogenated
Vegetable Oil butter, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) butter, Cucurbita pepo (Pumpkin)
Seed Oil, Vanilla planifolia (vanilla) absolute, Honey absolute, Tocopherol
(vintamin E).
Beurre de Bain Edition: Passion
While this buerre doesn’t smell girly per se, the
ingredients are for total girly girl skin care! Well, that’s not true. A man
could use this, but listen to this: creamy macadamia nut and cocoa butters,
passion flower oil, raspberry seed oil, carrot seed oil, vanilla absolute and
vitamin E. Those all sound girly, right?! This is luscious skin care in a tube!
Both butters are excellent emollients. Passion flower oil is super high in
fatty acids that are awesome for the skin and so is the raspberry seed oil as
well, just not quite as high as the passion flower. And carrot seed oil (not
just the vegetable!) is really, really great for the skin, too. Like the coffee
edition, this one also has a dose of vitamin E and some lovely vanilla
absolute, too.
Ingredients: Macadamia ternifolia Seed Oil (and)
Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) butter, Passiflora incanata
(Passion Flower) Seed Oil , Rubus Idaeus (Red Raspberry) Seed Oil , Vanilla
planifolia (vanilla) absolute, Tocopherol (vintamin E), Daucus carota (Carrot
Seed) Oil.
